Our premier sponsors included:

  • Mug & Mallet:   PNC Bank
  • Million Dollar Challenge:  Camden Partners Holdings, LLC
  • Pro Shop:  Suntrust Bank and Amano McGann
  • Beverage:  Lockton and Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP
  • Lunch: The Toledo Ticket Company
  • Masters: Corporate Maintenance Group, Digital Printing Systems, The Friends Foundation, JW Marriott Washington DC, and Loews Miami Beach Hotel

The Presenting Sponsorship title was given to Towne Park associates for their impressive fundraising efforts.  They claim they will raise over $100,000 in 2012!

In addition to The Foundation, the 2011 beneficiaries included:

  • Maryland Therapeutic Riding
  • The Summit School
  • St. Andrews Day School
  • Living Classrooms

2010

Bogeys & Birds 2010 was a record year for the golf tournament fundraiser. Each year we strive to better than the last and we certainly achieved that. We had record attendance of over 170 golfers so we had to overflow to the River Course at Queenstown. In addition, we had more sponsors than ever before with over $48,000 in sponsorship revenue alone. Our premier sponsors included Insurance Services Group as the Presenting Sponsor; PNC Bank as the Mug & Mallet Sponsor; PSA Financial as the Pro Shop Sponsor; and new in 2010, the Million Dollar Challenge sponsor was Camden Partners Holdings, LLC.

On top, Towne Park associates nationwide rose over $55,000 earning many golfer spots in the tournament and even a select few earned an all expenses paid trip to the tournament. Because of their generosity and that of our sponsors and golfers, we netted nearly $100,000 for the beneficiaries and the foundation. Finally, the 2010 beneficiaries included Maryland Therapeutic Riding, The Summit School, St. Andrews Day School, the Y of Central Maryland, and of course, the foundation’s Valentine Memorial Scholarship Fund.

2009

2009 was a great year for the Bogeys & Birds event raising over $45,000 benefiting The Check Foundation, The Summit School, St. Andrew’s Day School, and the many other charities we support. Once again, this was all made possible by the generous support of Insurance Services Group, Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, PSA Financial, and other great sponsors.

2008

In 2008 we took a short break.

2007

2007 was a record year for the Bogeys & Birds event raising over $40,000 benefiting The Check Foundation, The Summit School, and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Boys & Girls Clubs. This was possible due to the generous support of Insurance Services Group, Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, PSA Financial, and other generous sponsors. The 2007 tournament was followed by a crab feast.

2006

Bogeys & Birds 2006 was a unique year. Lexus of Annapolis chose The Check Foundation’s Bogeys & Birds as their local charity golf tournament as part of the Lexus Champions for Charity. In addition to a financial sponsorship and golf amenities, a trip for two to the 2006 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach was donated and auctioned off to the highest bidder! Thanks to support by Lexus of Annapolis and other generous sponsors, over $30,000 was raised in 2006. The 2006 event was followed by a Baltimore Ravens home pre-season football game versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

2004 & 2005

Bogeys & Birds 2004 and 2005 raised funds for Hospice of the Chesapeake, Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Boys & Girls Clubs, and The Check Foundation. The 2004 golf tournament was followed by an Orioles home game while in 2005 golfers went to a pre-season football game featuring a local rivalry – Washington Redskins versus the Baltimore Ravens. Each event netted over $20,000. Funds from the 2005 event also helped individuals adversely affected by the 2005 hurricane season.
